Google’s student competition

Google’s Internet Revolution Project prompted the company to launch a competition for Wrocław students who are supposed to encourage entrepreneurs to advertise on the Internet. The winners get a trip to Google centre in Zurich.

The competition enables students to support local business through encouraging entrepreneurs to advertise on the Internet and influencing Polish companies’ innovativeness. The group of students whose idea turns out to be the best way to drive Polish companies to Google Places gets a trip to Google Technology Centre in Zurich. Second best get tablets. The winners will be made known on 20th February 2011.

‘We spoke to the students during the Internet Revolution Days in Krakow and WrocÅ‚aw. They really liked the idea of becoming a Web Revolutionist’, says MichaÅ‚ KÄ™pka, Google.

Adding a company to Google Places, i.e. creating a business card on Google Maps is often the easiest way for a company to appear on the Web. Google Places make it easier to find out more about the company for Web Map as well as Google browser users.
